Abstract
This paper is a bibliometric study on the topic of the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi. The study was performed using articles from 1980-2000. The goal of this study was to determine the growth (or non-growth) of the literature within the designated time period, as well as the core literature and authorship, geographic distribution of the journals, and a collection analysis of the University of Southern Mississippi's holdings of these journals. This paper outlines the findings of this research, as well as proposing new avenues for the research, based on these findings.
