“Fun Reads” at an Academic Library: Encouraging College Students to Read for Pleasure

Abstract


This essay illustrates the importance of experiential learning through internships in MLS programs. It describes how, through concurrent internships in a public and an academic library, the author began thinking across professional boundaries and attempted to bring a public library-style marketing idea to an information literacy class at a university.
